M. Daley, RNC Intensive Care Nursery
Once again I have to thank you and your volunteers for all the beautiful blankets that your Caravan of Love delivered the other day. There were so many beautiful blankets I went to the nursery and now all the babies there have blankets. It makes the nursery look so colorful. The temperature dropped and was cold this week so the building was a little chilly and I knew all of our babies are toasty warm.I am still giving them out as each baby comes in and the moms are so happy. Thank you so much to all the knitters.

I have been crocheting for over 50 years. I love doing blankets, especially for babies. As my family has grown, I've been able to keep my hobby going. Now that they are all grown and I still make baby blankets I don't know what to do with them. I came across an article about Project Linus and knew I had to give them my blankets. Thanks for the opportunity to help others and to continue doing something I love.

Gabrielle
We had a great time and I think everybody working together as a team strengthened friendships. Project Linus NJ was definately a great experience! We chose PLNJ because my mom heard about it from a Girl Scout Troop Leader. My mom explained it to my friend and me and we thought it was a great way to let children in the hospital know that we care about them. When we described it to our friends, they were more than willing to help. It warms our hearts to know we made a difference by putting smiles on children's faces and although we cannot see them, we are happy to be able to help. This just proves that kids can help and everyone in this world can make a difference. Thank you PLNJ!

I was glad to volunteer and be a part of Project Linus NJ. My good friend, Gabrielle, and I thought it would be fun to work together for this cause. With the help of our family and friends we were able to hand make and collect over 25 blankets for you. Gabrielle and I worked hard in brainstorming and putting together our flyer. We distributed the flyer to our friends in school and were happy when so many of them wanted to help. Our friends all met at the library and worked together to make 12 fleece blankets. We also set up collection boxes so people from our community could donate blankets too. It was a great experience!

The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital
On behalf of the Child Life Department at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, I would like to thank you all for the wonderful handmade blankets, hats, tote bags and sweater sets your group recently donated to the Child Life Department. We always appreciate the baby blankets as well as varied colors in the afghans.

As you may know, hospitalization can be emotionally taxing for many patients, especially so for lerm term stays. Our Children's Hospital admits a variety of patients of all ages with both acute and chronic conditions. Many of these children spend a great deal of time here and getting a handmade item they can take for their own is very important to their personal space. Your thoughtfulness will definately bring many smiles and lift the spirits of the children who cannot be in their own homes at this time.

Thank you again for remembering the Child Life Department. We are very grateful for your support.

Susan Pasternack, Volunteer Services
On behalf of all the children who comfortably snuggled under a handmade blanket, I would like to thank you for your donation of many beautiful blankets and hats to the patients of Raritan Bay Medical Center. We were thrilled to receive such beautiful items from your organization and they were put to immediate use by many of our patients.

Thank you for selecting our medical center as a donor site. We greatly appreciate the time and effort of everyone involved with PLNJ.

Pam Martin, MCDSS
Dear Hillary and Blanketeers,

Wow!  thanks so very much for all of the bags chock full of wonderful homemade blankets.  You were kind enough to give us a good supply for our Atlantic Highlands, Neptune and Freehold offices.  I know they will be distributed to the neediest of children, and will be much appreciated by the parents as well.

Thanks also to your volunteer Amanda who was willing to drive out to Freehold to deliver our blankets.  Luckily, she and my husband work in the same general area and he was able to save her a trip by linking up with her.

When I walked in to our Atlantic Highlands office, a Mom-to-be with a small baby was talking to a social worker.  Our MCDSS staff happily unpacked the bags of blankets and picked 2 beauties to give to her when she was done.  Keep up the good work!

Best Regards,
Pam

Your love and efforts will not be forgotten. The Trenton Youth Corps extends their appreciation for supporting their 2004 holiday event. The blankets were gorgeous, the recipients were very appreciative and the youth corps volunteers highly impressed. Thank you and may you have a safe and happy holiday season.

Joe - Caravan of Love Driver
As a driver who is lucky enough to have the opportunity to both pick up from those making blankets and also bring them to the agencies in need I have a unique view point.  I get to share the joy of those giving as well as the gratitude of those receiving.  There is no substitute for being in the field....to SEE the love and care that goes into making the blankets that we deliver or to SEE a three and a half pound premature baby actually grasp a blanket with their tiny little hands or to SEE a young cancer patient wrap their quilt around themselves for warmth during a chemotherapy treatment.  All I can say is, if you experience just one of these things, Project Linus New Jersey will hook you for life.  Volunteers...ALL Volunteers...We'll never be able to "save the World", but each of us can certainly do something to give aid and comfort to a tiny piece of it.
Get out there and do something for someone else.  Random acts of kindness DO create miracles.

Linda Stahl, Interfaith Hospitality Network
Dear PLNJ,
I am writing to tell you how the blankets from PLNJ have perked up the beds of the children living in the Interfaith Hospitality Network. Each child chose their own blanket and has it proudly displayed on their bed at the host congregation. The kids will take the blankets with them when their parents find a new home and they leave the network.
