Sharing the Pay It Forward Movement
The Pay It Forward movement creates interactions that
quantify and qualify the effects of simple acts of kindness on
others and the culture as a whole. We share that philosophy.
As a 100% volunteer organization you quickly learn
that it takes unique partnerships to nurture a grassroots agency.
Without the support and guidance of citizens in the community who
offer insight, skills and passion, ideas that merit exploring would
be left on the “dream pile.” Project Linus NJ thrives
because it receives consistent and
generous gifts of time, talent and encouragement. People “paying
it forward” in
ways we could never have predicted or for that matter turned away.
Our village was
built on volunteer power—and we encourage you to find your
own unique way to pay it forward.

I want to personally thank Project Linus
New Jersey for being a wonderful example of the “Pay
It Forward Movement” in action. Of course, PLNJ
is really a collection of individual people. Good people
surrounded by other caring people who pitch in to make the
work even more meaningful.
When I wrote the book Pay It Forward I never
imagined a movement would follow. Even after the movement
began to emerge, I never imagined it would perpetuate itself
independent of the book and movie publicity I thought were
fueling it. But it’s bigger now than it was then. Thankfully,
there is no end in sight.
Please don’t make the mistake of thinking
I am the Pay It Forward Movement. You are. You are the ones
who bring us back to hope when the news of the world is just
too dismal. It’s you who remind us that people are
basically caring and good, no matter what the cynics try
to say. This is a page of thanks from me—to you.
