Become A Blanketeer
--------

We gladly accept handmade blankets that are knitted, crocheted, hand-sewn and quilted. That are machine-washable, soft to the skin and created with a child in mind.

    Requested Blanket Sizes
  • Preemie - 12 x 12 to 24 x 24 inches
  • Infant - 30 x 45 inches
  • Toddler to Young Child - 36 x 36 inches
  • Teen size - 63 x 87 inches or larger

Donate Fabric or Yarn
--------

Easiest way yet — pick up a skein of yarn or a yard of fabric for a “blanketeer” and you've made an instant impact!

Help Deliver Blankets
--------

You may be suprised at how easy finding the time to deliver blankets can be. We welcome volunteers to deliver blankets to shelters, hospitals and agencies we outreach. A one day, one hour commitment! Join our caravan of love team!

Company Involvement
--------

Businesses large and small have programs where they match volunteer hours with dollars for specific children’s charities. If your business or employer offers such a program, ask for details. If your office has a “bulletin board” space or a newsletter, help us recruit volunteers by posting our quarterly flyer.

Be a Supply Source
--------

If you are interested in donating blanket making materials and supplies, we can always use: batting, fabric, yarn, postage stamps, printing, sewing notions and promotional materials. Ask about our Wish List.

Be a Drop Off Site
--------

As our organization grows, so does our need for localized drop-off sites. Consider setting up a bin at your office, library, sewing center or school. It's easy! Commercial locations available to the general public 5-7 days a week are ideal. All drop off locations must be pre-approved by the PLNJ Board. Please contact us for more information.

Shipping Angel
--------

Blankets are heavy! The cost to ship handmade blankets to reach fragile children can add up quickly. Consider becoming a “shipping angel.”

Whether it's the cost of shipping one “birthday blanket” to a terminally ill child calling the hospital home or donating the cost of shipping handmade blankets to our national and international partners, we could use your help.

Be a Good News Angel
--------

Each blanket campaign begins with a recruitment flyer. Help us get the “good news” out to religious based groups, mother’s clubs, ladies auxiliaries and others who may not know the impact their blankets will make on a fragile child. We are angel powered, and could use your help!

Quilt or Crocheting Mentors
--------

Consider teaching quilting or crocheting. If you have the time and talent for blanket making, we'd love to hear from you. We often receive requests from educators, senior groups and our own “Caravan of Love” delivery team who would like to learn how to quilt or crochet. Volunteer as a mentor, and “pay it forward!”

If you are interested, please contact us for more information.
